Kerry runs Garrick Talent. A former search consultant who spent much of her early career on retained board and C-suite mandates for some of the UK's most demanding clients, she took over day-to-day leadership of the firm from founder James Garrick and has steered its growth to four offices and around 115 consultants. She believes the discipline of proper executive search — mapped markets, referenced shortlists, honest counsel — can be delivered without the opacity and inflated fees that so often accompany it.
Alongside running the business, she leads the firm's Executive Search practice, taking personal responsibility for its most sensitive appointments. Her work is defined by discretion: much of what she places is never advertised, and many of her searches are conducted in confidence for boards navigating succession, transformation or the arrival of a new chair.
Kerry is known among clients for telling them what they need to hear rather than what they want to hear — whether that means reframing a brief, challenging a shortlist, or advising against a hire altogether. She holds the firm's shortlists to a simple standard: every candidate presented must be one a client could genuinely appoint.
Kerry writes occasional thematic pieces on leadership, succession and the state of the UK search market.
